To forget the bad and remember the good stuffs-
Cliche isnt it? But do we really have this inculcated into our minds?
Take this person, he was a coincincidently involved in the death of a fren, and sentenced to jail for a few years. After his release, do u think u will give him a chance back into the society? But will the rest of the society?
Take another classic example: looking at a couple in a relationship, they look so blissful, perhaps even a slightest chance they will get married, but marred by a bad joke from destiny, they quarreled and the relationship turns sour. At this point, do they stop, look back and reminisce the happy times they had?
And this i relate to equal chances, if u were a boss, would u hire someone who is honest, but has a criminal offence, or someone who has a 'clean' record but appears to be honest? For all u know, that particular employee might be putting up a facade
Meritocracy- rings a bell? Singapore spells meritocracy throughout. But graduates nowadays think they merit their salary after tough times in universities. Furthermore u can have someone who are highly educated, but do not give a shit to the operations of a company.
So is this system driving people to becoming more selfless? Or selfish?
For guys lets look back to NS, look at ur officers and specs, or even urself, why do u really think u deserve ur rank? do u really deserve ur rank? I have seen some, who are pure wayang
For all, look at the society, ur organisation, people are so consume by their salary package, stepping on one another to go all the way up.
For soccer lovers, the cheats who dives, play act, influence the referees
For ourself, a simple question, "will u do something in the long run that will not benefit yourself?"
Or should we call this system monetocracy?
Sidetrack - Anyway this lady from my company she resigned and ytd was her last day, i asked her why and she told me: "不要浪费他们的时间" (dont waste the co's time) very 潇洒 (cool :S)
So lets not have prejudice, take a leap of faith, and give others a chances :D
PS: very bad organisation, no flow of topics but whatever!
